Before the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show , manufacturers are presenting individually what will be the electrical novelties in the field of the car. The first electric Dacia has just been presented, a SUV-shaped prototype that promises a lot thanks to its statistics.
We talked about the  Dacia Spring,  which is your first electric car. It is not a concept: it is a vehicle that will be marketed in Europe in the spring of 2021 and will have both a private approach and a 'carsharing' approach, an  initiative that we are seeing especially in small-format urban areas. This, meanwhile, has a more conventional format.

However, this will not be a different urban experience: however much you have an SUV format, you will have to fight SEAT or Skoda proposals such as the Mii electric or CITIGOe iV, respectively. This time,  with a more aggressive price that is expected around 14,000 euros, which will be key to the avalanche of Chinese alternatives planned in Europe.

The first electric Dacia

We are facing a vehicle of 3.73 meters long and with 4 doors, with a maximum capacity for 4 passengers. Its autonomy will be more than 200 kilometers under the WLTP homologation cycle, and its aesthetics will bet on the SUV format with double-height LED headlights and a fairing grill. It will have plastic protections and roof bars to face a more daring aesthetic even with its urban character, with adventurous touches that we have seen before with the Sandero and Duster.

Interestingly, Dacia has wanted to reserve a multitude of technical data for herself, so we do not know details about its performance or the capacity of its batteries. However, the price is known thanks to statements made by the leaders of the Renault group, estimating that it will arrive in Europe for about  14,000 or 15,000 euros, before aid.

After subsidies, the price could be reduced to less than 10,000 euros. This would make it a truly affordable electric car and an absolutely ideal option for those who want to enter the world of electrified cars but can not afford the high price that usually accompany them.

If you arrive for a price lower than 15,000 euros, this could become the "cheap" electric car par excellence, exploiting in the European market transforming you into an affordable option with good benefits; The 200 kilometers WLTP is no joke, and it is more than likely that the Renault Group will publicize as much as possible its good capabilities accompanied by its low cost. However, we will have to wait later to find out what this new Dacia proposal is riding under the hood.
