BOTTOM BEZOS WITH TRUMP Court rules Amazon - Freezes $ 10 billion project given by Pentagon to Microsoft

A federal court has ordered the Pentagon to suspend the implementation of a massive $ 10 billion cloud storage contract awarded to Microsoft last October by Amazon.

The e-commerce giant and the world's largest cloud computing firm had sued US President Donald Trump for influencing the Defense Department's decision, without taking into account objective evidence. Amazon thinks it should be awarded this contract because it has more experience and know-how than Microsoft in this field.

Earlier today, a judge issued a temporary injunction in favor of Amazon banning the Pentagon from implementing this plan, called JEDI.

"We are frustrated by this delay but believe that in the end we will be able to move on and implement the work needed to enable those serving our country to use the new technologies they need most urgently," Microsoft Vice President Frank Shaw responded. "We have confidence in the Ministry of Defense," he added, estimating that it would prove that the company did the job because it could "better meet the needs of the soldiers."

The 10-year JEDI program aims to modernize all US military information systems into an artificial intelligence-managed system.

In November, Amazon announced that it intended to bring to justice the way the ministry handled the bidding process. Earlier this week, the company directly attacked President Trump and other senior officials, demanding an explanation of why Microsoft took the job. "President Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he intends to use his capacity as army chief to intervene in the operation of the government, including the award of federal contracts, for personal purposes," a group spokesman said Monday. He cited Trump's statements as exemplified by former Secretary of Defense James Matisse as an example. According to the latter, the president had told him to get rid of Amazon in a discussion they had about the project.

Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon, has been frequently criticized by Republican President Obama, especially because he is also the owner of the Washington Post, one of the most heavily criticized newspapers in Trump and his government.
