The latest model of Samsung Galaxy S9 is hard to say that it is better than iPhone X for the Samsung style Face ID style system and odd AR pictograms. But for the owner of Samsung terminals that does not seem to be a problem - not only that S9 is a total smartphone. Android users are no longer switching to the iPhone. Indeed, Android users' loyalty is higher than iOS users, the latest report published by survey company Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) today (3 / 8th time)

According to the report, Android's brand loyalty has been stable high since the beginning of 2016 and still keeping record highs.

Currently, Android's loyalty is 91%, above iOS's 86%. This number is the percentage of those who upgraded their devices during 2017, who did not change their OS.

In the two years from January 2016 to December 2017, loyalty to Android was 89% to 91% (latest 91%), while iOS was 85% to 88%, several percents lower.

"Currently there are only two types of mobile operating systems, users choose one, learn, invest in apps and storage, do not leave it, so in the future Apple and Google will make products and services to this loyal customer base We need to find a way to sell them, "says Mike Levin, partner and co-founder of CIRP.

This is also the reason both companies are concentrating on service more and more. We are trying to raise profits from each customer base. Apple has been successful from a financial point of view - in November it has achieved a new record of service sales, suggesting that Apple Music, Apple Pay, iCloud, AppleCare, and the App Store are on the rise.

One of the reasons is that Android users' brand loyalty can be replaced with various new models without leaving Android. There is freedom to try new experiences without wasting time spent on investing in applications and learning.

But Android has not always been top in terms of loyalty. CIRP keeps track of data over several years, but it was once the opposite.

For example, in 2013, iPhone owners had the higher loyalty than Android users. But began to change from the following year Android has continued to rise since then.

However, the report notes that the transfer rate is different from the number of people who transferred. And if you look at the numbers from that side you will see a different one.

"As you know, Android's user base is much bigger than iOS, so the number of users switching from Android to iOS is not different from the absolute number of users switching from iOS to Android," Levin says. "When you look at the absolute number of users, I tend to favor the theory that iOS gets older Android users than the reverse."
